I know I’m at the age where I technically shouldn’t like Zoella, or be interested in her products as I’m well out of my teens, but… #SorryNotSorry I do like her, and I am interested in her products, OK?! I am not ashamed to admit that Zoe totally inspires me. The other week, I was watching her instastories, and saw that she was releasing new Zoella Beauty products. Normally, this wouldn’t interest me, as I have never bought any of her other products before, but something really excited me about this release. The Jelly and Gelato theme is absolutely perfect for summer.
Zoella, along with Alfie, Poppy, Sean and Mark, were in an ice-cream van down at the Brighton Pavilion giving out ice-cream in line with the release of the range. Later on, Zoella vlogged about the Jelly and Gelato range, and without even smelling it, I was straight online ordering, as it just looked so super cute (who cares what it smells like when it looks so amazing!)
The packaging has quite a retro vibe to it, and I adore the pastel colours. Can we also just appreciate how adorable the details are (straw coming out the Shower Shake, anyone?!) The gold writing detail also adds that certain “je ne sais quoi”.
Anyway, back to the products. I originally only ordered three out of the eight – Shower Shake, Shower Sauce and Pink Bath Wafers. I ordered from Superdrug online (here) and luckily there was an introductory offer on, so I got them cheaper than they would normally be.
When the products arrived, I was so pleasantly surprised at the smell, that I knew I had to get more of the collection. Zoella describes the scent of the collection as elderflower, pomegranate and double cream. It is such a refreshing smell – slightly floral, with a sweet after-smell (is that even a thing, because it is now!) I left the delivery box open, and the smell from the bath wafers permeated my room, much to my delight.
At the time of writing, Superdrug have a 3 for 2 offer on the Jelly and Gelato range, so I have now also picked myself up the Body Pudding, Bath Frosting, and another Shower Shake (because I know I’ll use this up first).
The Shower Shake is definitely my favourite product in the Jelly and Gelato collection (hence why I bought two). The packaging is undeniably cute with the little straw sticking out the top like a milkshake. It is a moisturising body wash that makes you (and the bathroom) smell amazing when it’s been used! The consistency is quite thick, presumably as it contains moisturising ingredients! With the Shower Shake, you don’t need a lot of product to work up a decent lather.
The Shower Sauce is another body wash, which looks like a yummy, scrummy sauce that you would drizzle all over your ice cream or gelato. The consistency is thinner than the Shower Shake, as the Shower Sauce doesn’t contain moisturising properties. I do like the Shower Sauce, but I prefer the Shower Shake.
Pink Bath Wafers
This is a moisturising bath fizzer, and although Zoella has released bath fizzers before, she says none of them have contained moisturising ingredients. I am a total Lush addict, and I particularly like moisturising bath bombs, so I just know that I am going to love this bath fizzer. It looks quite big, so I reckon I’ll be able to get a couple of baths from this.
Body Pudding is a body cream, which is really rich in texture. It has little pink “bubbles” in it [see above photo] that melt into your skin as you rub it in, which is such a Zoella touch! What I really like about this body cream is that it is not greasy at all, and soaks in to the skin straight away. After wearing it all day, I can still smell it on my skin, which I also really like.
This is essentially four sachets of powdered bubble bath, that you pour under your running bath water. On first glance, the sachets look quite small, and I didn’t have very high hopes of the Bath Frosting, but I was proved wrong! The The Bath Frosting makes the bath super bubbly. You get four sachets in the tin, which means four lovely bubble baths – bliss!
I’m really glad that I bit the bullet and bought some of the Jelly and Gelato collection as my first Zoella Beauty products. Based on these, I would definitely buy more Zoella Beauty products. I didn’t buy the Beauty Clutch (I’m not sure I fancy this), the Cream Body Scrub or the Body Mist – but there’s still time yet… Although I’m now really looking forward to the Christmas range!
Have you got any of the Jelly and Gelato collection? Have you had any Zoella Beauty products from previous collections?
