Ok… So unless you’ve just stumbled across my blog, or come out of hibernation then you absolutely know that I am OBSESSED with make up. Not only am I obsessed with make up, but I am partial to a lip product or hundred. A girl can never have too many lip products, right? So when I was selected by Influenster U.K. to be one of the first people to receive a U.K. VoxBox, and I heard it was Max Factor lip goodies, I was just a little bit excited! I have to say, that (in my opinion!) the shades that I got are absolutely perfect for me, and I couldn’t be happier with them!
Honey Lacquer Gloss
I tend to reach for lipsticks or liquid lipsticks over lip glosses, so I wasn’t sure how I would get on with this product. I was sent the shade “Honey Lilac”, which I personally think goes well with my blonde hair! As soon as I swatched the gloss on my arm, I knew I was going to like it. It applied smoothly and didn’t drag on my skin. I headed straight to the mirror and applied a little slick to my lips, and to my surprise, it felt moisturising as well as applying smoothly, and was not sticky in the slightest (one of the reasons I’m not usually a huge fan of lip glosses). This lip lacquer does last relatively well, although needs topping up after eating and drinking, as expected. I like this Max Factor lip lacquer so much, that I’m going to buy another shade that I’ve got my eye on.
Colour Elixir Lipstick
If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know how much I love a lipstick. If you don’t follow me yet, why the bloomin’ heck not?!
I was sent the lipstick in the shade “Dusky Rose”, which again, I feel just happens to go with my blonde hair. I’ve tended to opt for matte lipsticks lately, although metallics and lip toppers have been sneaking into my collection… And this lipstick has a gorgeous shine to it! I paired this with the Universal Lip Liner (that I was also kindly sent) to avoid the colour bleeding. The lip liner is slightly too waxy for my liking. I do also prefer a coloured liner if I’m perfectly honest. The staying power of this lipstick is good – better than the Honey Lacquer Gloss, although I prefer the shade of the gloss over the lipstick. I would like to have a look at some of the other shades of lipstick in the Colour Elixir range, as I do like the formula of this lipstick.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the lip gloss and lipstick. However, I probably won’t be adding the lip liner into my daily routine.
What are your favourite Max Factor products? Do you like the look of any of the above?
This post contains products that were sent to me for free, for testing and review purposes. As always, all opinions are entirely my own.
