I have seen Jeffree Star products floating around the internet for some time now, but never got round to purchasing my first product until recently – a velour liquid lipstick in the shade Chrysanthemum.
I wanted to buy one of the velour liquid lipsticks, as I’ve heard so many good things about them, so I trawled through the various shades until I came across Crysanthemum, which on Beauty Bay, is pictured to look like this on your lips:

Now, this looks like the perfect coraly nude for spring, and even has some metallic shimmer – right up my street! So Chrysanthemum went straight into my basket.I have to say, for my first product from Jeffree Star, I am somewhat underwhelmed by Chrysanthemum. The lipstick feels strange to apply – I would describe the texture as thin and almost watery. In my opinion, the colour looks nothing like pictured online (see below). The lipstick often transfers to my teeth, and I feel the colour is barely noticeable on my lips with one coat. After two coats the product actually feels unpleasant. It does, however, stay put for quite a long time, I’ll give it that.
I don’t know if I’ve got a dodgy batch, or if it’s this particular shade, but I can’t say I’m particularly impressed, Jeffree!
However, I’m giving Jeffree Star the benefit of the doubt, and have bought another velour liquid lipstick from the collab with Manny MUA… Here’s hoping that one works better with me!
What are your experiences with the velour liquid lipsticks from Jeffree Star? Have I just been unlucky with this shade?!
