If you know me, you’ll know that I can’t just pop into Boots or Superdrug for one thing such as toothpaste or shampoo. I never go in with the intention of doing a haul, honestly! But somehow it is guaranteed I will always leave about £40 or £50 poorer and a few make up items richer! So it’s an investment really, right?
Last week, I was going to Boots for one thing – shower gel, and ended up picking up a few bits of make up… but did I stop at Boots? Oh no, of course I didn’t! I went on over to Superdrug and left there with even more make up that I don’t really need! (Well, that’s a lie, I did need some of it!) I thought I’d share with you the things I got, as I love seeing these sorts of posts!
The problem started when I saw the new NYX “Lingerie” liquid lipsticks on the end of an aisle. I love these and already have three of the original shades, so I just had to look. Then somehow I was swatching them all and three ended up coming home with me. I have no idea how that happened! In the picture below the shades from top to bottom are: Push-Up, Cheekies and Cashmere Silk.
I needed an eyebrow pencil, and they didn’t have the NYX one that I usually use, so I picked up the Rimmel “Brow This Way Fibre Pencil” in the shade 001 Light. I’ve never tried this before, so I’ve got no idea how I’ll get on with it. Then I spied the “Match Perfection 2 in 1 Skintone Adapting Concealer and Highlighter.” I didn’t really need a new concealer, or highlighter for that matter, but hey! It looked worth trying and after swatching the shades, I picked up 030 Classic Beige.
I didn’t really need it, but I always have a fear of running out of liquid eyeliner. So many people ask me which liquid eyeliner I use, and it is probably the cheapest one out there, but I love it! Two Collection “Fast Stroke” eyeliners fell into my basket.
Well, the haul didn’t stop there! On my way to the till, I spotted the Real Techniques “Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges.” Naturally, I needed new sponges to blend my new concealer, right?!
I was on a roll, and talking about roll, after buying the black L’Oreal “Miss Baby Roll” mascara, I really wanted the lilac one, but Boots didn’t have it… so after leaving Boots, I went over to Superdrug. Only for the mascara. Honest. Except when I got to Superdrug, L’Oreal was on 3 for 2. It would have been rude not to really. As I’ve been using the same eyebrow pencil for ever, I thought I should maybe experiment with different products, so I picked up the “Brow Artist Xpert” in shade 103 Warm Blonde. And because I don’t have enough lip products, I got another “Lip Paint Matte” for good measure, in shade 210 Dead Lips (nice name…)
Because I have ZERO willpower, I couldn’t control myself to just head to the till. Just a little peek at the MakeUp Revolution section wouldn’t do any harm… would it?! Anyway, a haul’s not a haul without a bit of MakeUp Revolution…
The first thing I spotted was the “Brow Pomade” in Soft Brown. It’s definitely a dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills “Dipbrow Pomade”, so I figured I might as well try it. Then I noticed that if you spent £12, you could choose a free palette, how could I resist?! I’ve heard so much about the “Luxury Banana Powder”, so I picked that up, but I was still £1 short. I already have the “Vivid Baked Highlighter” in shade Peach Lights, so I picked up another one as I love it so much. Then I chose the “Revoholic Cheeks” palette for free, which has lots of amazing shades in it. They could be used for cheeks, or the brown shades could even be used as transition shades for eyes!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my Boots and Superdrug make up haul! Have you got any of these products? Which are your favourites?
